Key Functions Of Chargehand

• Plumbers/ Pipefitters under their direct, control and supervision answer to Chargehands for all aspects of their work.
• Adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and ensuring that Safe Work practices are employed on site.
• Completion of dynamic Safe Plans of Action (SPAs) and input into RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for CJK.
  
  

Duties / Responsibilities

• Ensuring EHS regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Maintaining a high standard of Quality on site i.e. Workmanship and Materials installed.
• Knowledge of BCAR 2014 legislation and CE Marking of Construction Products / Materials (where a harmonised EN standard exists).
• Familiarisation of the Project Specifications – General and Particular specs
• Familiar with Mechanical Schematics and Layout / General Arrangement Drawings
• Ability to complete Mechanical Take-offs for quantities, site references, updating Working files and control of Requisitions and Purchase Orders (PO's)
• Delivering performance in line with the agreed Construction Programme and Milestone dates.
• Inputting into weekly / bi-monthly Progress Reporting, with Site Manager / Project Manager.
• Attention to weekly Site Walkdowns and Defect Management of Mechanical Installation works.
• Forward planning of Resources and Labour Allocation for site activities / tasks.
• Control of Timekeeping and Clocking In and Out by Trade labour & Apprentices.
• Control of Mechanical Plant, Materials and Test Equipment, whilst maintaining a neat, tidy and secure Stores.
• Control and monitoring of Site Variations, with Labour & Materials used recorded.
• Completion of marked-up Field Installation drawings i.e. redlined Drawings.
  
  

Qualifications

• Completed all Phases 1-7 of SOLAS Apprenticeship – FETAC Level 6
• Successful in Senior Trades exams
• At least 2 years post Senior Trades qualification working as an Plumber/Pipefitter.

• Hourly rate, dependent on experience.
• Position based on various Mechanical Projects.
