Healthcare Assistant (Relief available) — St John of God Dementia Care at St Joseph's Shankill

Are you passionate about dementia care? We are seeking to appoint Healthcare Assistants for Relief Positions.

Qualifications
  • Flexible and able to communicate effectively and multi-task as required.
  • Current experience in the care of the elderly and people living with dementia.
  • Demonstrates attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person-centred.
  • FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Support Certificate completed.
  • Ensures full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
  • Have an employment permit to allow you to work in Ireland.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Meet an individual's physical and personal care needs to a high quality standard and with sensitivity under the guidance of the staff nurse or CNM 2.
  • Demonstrate attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person-centred and focus on the person's feelings when providing personal care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a person-centred approach and Enriched Care Plan in consultation with the person's family / relative as appropriate.
  • Support families, friends and supporters of people experiencing dementia while promoting a person-centred approach to individuals.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of food to ensure mealtimes are a social occasion for people.
  • Engage with and support the volunteer team.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and responsibilities.
  • Participate in education, training and the professional development plan.
