About Merida

Merida is a residential home in Newmarket, providing care and support for children and young people with mental health needs. We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team and help ensure our home is safe, welcoming and well-maintained.

About The Role
  • As our Maintenance Worker, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the home. Your duties will include:
  • Carrying out general repairs and maintenance (basic plumbing, joinery, painting, decorating, minor electrical work).
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring issues are resolved quickly.
  • Conducting routine safety checks and reporting any concerns.
  • Supporting with gardening and grounds maintenance where required.
  • Ensuring the home is kept in excellent condition, providing a safe and comfortable environment for children, staff, and visitors.
About You
  • We are looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced in general maintenance or a related trade.
  • Practical, hands-on and able to work independently.
  • Organised, reliable and takes pride in their work.
  • Able to communicate well with staff and contractors.
  • Flexible and willing to support the wider team when needed.
  • Experience of working in a care setting is desirable but not essential.
