About MeridaMerida is a residential home in Newmarket, providing care and support for children and young people with mental health needs. We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team and help ensure our home is safe, welcoming and well-maintained.
About The Role- As our Maintenance Worker, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the home. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out general repairs and maintenance (basic plumbing, joinery, painting, decorating, minor electrical work).
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring issues are resolved quickly.
- Conducting routine safety checks and reporting any concerns.
- Supporting with gardening and grounds maintenance where required.
- Ensuring the home is kept in excellent condition, providing a safe and comfortable environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in general maintenance or a related trade.
- Practical, hands-on and able to work independently.
- Organised, reliable and takes pride in their work.
- Able to communicate well with staff and contractors.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider team when needed.
- Experience of working in a care setting is desirable but not essential.
- £14.14 per hour
- Full-time permanent role (40 hours per week)
