As we prepare to open The Mercantile Hotel in the heart of Dublin City, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accommodation Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic pre-opening team and play a crucial role in ensuring seamless accommodations operations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to cleanliness standards, schedules, and procedures by daily briefing and meetings.
  • Laise with the Accommodation Manager to maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and ensure their proper use and storage.
  • Lead the department and smooth operation of it in the absence of Accommodation manager.
  • Management of the rosters and payroll system, ensure rostering targets are met and monitored daily.
  • Assist in creating and implementing efficient work schedules, deep cleaning schedules, managing staffing levels.
  • Assist in training, hiring and developing new and existing staff members, providing guidance on proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
  • Deal with all VIP customers and make sure that their rooms are checked and that they have all the requirements requested.
  • Handle lost property registry and following up with guest queries.
  • Follow high level of security is followed in relation to the control of master keys and guest bedrooms. Follow necessary protocols if key card is lost.
  • Ensure that an up-to-date maintenance log is maintained and that all issues are prioritized, and tasks assigned to the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure high standards of linen maintained-and that regular supply is ensured. Follow up of reject linens etc.
  • Ensure effective communication with Front Office departments to maximize the efficiency of bedroom turnaround rate.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, inquiries, or complaints related to housekeeping, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Follow up with housekeeping staff of any guest complaints, room standard issues and time management.
Requirements
  • Have a minimum of 2-year supervisory experience or 1-year of assistant manager experience at a similar property in a busy hotel environment.
  • Provide a superb guest service and have excellent people management skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
  • Be able to multi-task and be willing to help where required in all areas of the hotel which includes, cleaning rooms, public area and handling linens.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Be available and flexible for early starts and late finishes, weekends and bank holidays.
