Role Brief

Join Our Neurodiversity Service Team at Spectrum.Life. We celebrate neurodiversity and support people to understand themselves in empowering, affirming ways. We're looking for a PSI Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) to support neurodivergent individuals through ADHD and autism assessments, personalised support planning, and therapeutic interventions, delivered through secure online platforms. You'll work with adults and young people (ages 7+), explore neurodivergent identity, identify strengths, and co-create support plans that reflect goals and needs. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in shaping care that makes a difference.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments grounded in neurodiversity-affirming principles and DSM-5 criteria, considering gender, age, and cultural background.
  • Deliver comprehensive autism assessments using DSM-5 frameworks, inclusive of lived experience and contextual factors.
  • Apply clinical insight into ADHD and autism intersectionality, tailoring assessment and support accordingly; provide therapeutic interventions with collaborative goal-setting.
  • Work remotely as part of a multidisciplinary team to reflect an inclusive, person-centred model of care.
  • Prepare clear, professional reports that reflect strengths-based clinical thinking and provide practical recommendations for daily life, education or employment.
  • Liaise with families, caregivers, and support systems to facilitate goal-setting and inclusion.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and reflective practice to stay current with best practices in neurodiversity-affirming approaches and diagnostic frameworks.
Requirements
  • Doctoral qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and current registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Minimum one year post-registration experience with a focus on comprehensive assessment and support for ADHD and/or autism, including co-occurring presentations and diagnostic complexity.
  • In-depth understanding of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD, with a reflective approach integrating clinical judgment and lived experience.
  • Formulation-based approach to build an individualized understanding of clients' strengths, needs, and support contexts.
  • Ability to communicate complex clinical information clearly, with neurodiversity-affirming, accessible reports.
  • Comfort working remotely using digital platforms to engage with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing collaborative care plans and goals with neurodivergent individuals and their networks.
  • Commitment to inclusive, strength-based, affirming practice and staying current with neurodiversity, identity, and mental health research.
Benefits
  • Fully remote, flexible working options with a commitment of 2 days per week.
  • Competitive salary (based on experience).
  • 25 days of annual leave per annum pro rata plus 24/7 health and wellbeing support.
  • Monthly clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Opportunity to contribute to shaping an innovative service that challenges societal attitudes around neurodiversity and mental health.

Ready to Make a Difference? If you're passionate about neurodiversity and eager to support individuals in understanding and embracing their unique neurotypes, we'd love to hear from you
