As a Cogito Administrator for an Epic system, you will be configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Cogito reporting databases to align with the environment strategy. This would include engaging in capacity planning to ensure sufficient system resources, monitoring database size and health, and creating and managing plans for statistics and index maintenance. Primary Responsibilities of the Cogito Clarity Database Administrator:

1. Successfully complete all required job training, including Epic certification, within first six months of employment and keep certifications up to date
2. Configuring and maintaining the Cogito databases according to the environment strategy
3. Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
4. Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
5. Managing the logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
6. Applying RDMS upgrades and updates to production and non‐production environments
7. Performing database backups and verifying restores
8. Participate in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities
9. Ensure Epic database changes are communicated to the necessary teams across the enterprise
10. Works closely with other databases, environment/infrastructure and internal/external enterprise security teams
11. Provide on call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues
12. Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications of the Cogito Clarity Database Administrator:

1. Degree Qualified in relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
2. Working knowledge of the database operating systems
3. Technically experienced in MS SQL Server analytical database platforms
4. Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance

Preferred Qualifications of the Cogito Clarity Database Administrator:

1. Experience working with Epic Systems
2. RDBMS Certification preferably Microsoft SQL Server
