The OPTIMA team is seeking an experienced Program Manager to drive scalable and streamlined continuous quality improvement initiatives across processes.

OPTIMA is a global team that enables Amazon to deliver a superior shopping experience to customers worldwide. Our mission is to empower Amazon's LLMs through Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) across various categories at high speed. We aim to provide an end-to-end data solution for the LLM lifecycle, leveraging cutting-edge technology and operational excellence. We support shopping feature teams by providing reliable and comprehensive insights and ground truth data to measure and train ML models, as well as handle annotation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across 10 languages.

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Program Manager to join our rapidly growing team. The role involves developing insights and eliminating defects in quality that impact business metrics. Responsibilities include:

  1. Creating mechanisms to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues affecting business metrics.
  2. Collaborating with partner teams (Science, CX PMs, Engineering, BIE, etc.) to address problems.
  3. Developing data-driven approaches with SWOT/BA teams to identify opportunities and trends at scale.
  4. Breaking down complex opportunities into manageable tasks and ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

Key responsibilities as Quality Program Manager:

  • Drive data-oriented analysis, technology adoption, and process improvements to meet operational and business goals.
  • Identify process gaps and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Serve as SME and referral point for process-related inquiries.
  • Use quantitative decision-making to influence business/operational metrics.
  • Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment driven by complex systems.
  • Perform deep dives into processes and develop improvement solutions.
  • Collaborate with Science, Engineering, and Product teams to enhance business metrics.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and performance.
  • Prioritize process improvements aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain risk controls, implement corrective actions, and ensure on-time project completion.
  • Develop innovative ideas and establish procedures for long-term solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications include:

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Influencing, negotiating, and solution-providing skills.
  • Deep understanding of operations ecosystems.
  • Experience working with virtual teams across time zones.
  • Experience presenting to senior leaders.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Additional preferred skills:

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology.
  • Experience with MS Access and SQL.
  • Experience in requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma tools.
