Responsibilities:

Strategic Product Leaders (SPLs), are pivotal roles within GSC&TO. They have overall strategic accountability for establishing and optimizing the design and performance of our product supply chains throughout the lifecycle for a portfolio of products.

This role represents, and is the single-point of accountability for Global Supply Chain & Technical Operations (GSC&TO) on the Product Strategy Teams (PST's), Launch Core Teams (LCT's) and Commercial Brand Teams, which develop, commercialize and optimize brands across the Cardiovascular Therapeutic Area. This role is the key link managing these relationships via a single point of contact. You will also have a critical interface role to ensuring forecasts are regularly aligned with the Commercial Brand Team and Executive Sales & Operations Planning leaders.

As the GSC&TO brand owner you will have full accountability for productive collaboration with site and functional representatives deployed around the world on the strategic direction of the brand, which will be translated into current and future supply plans, including recommendation for additional capacity/investment where needed. This role will take accountability for the supply chain while the product/brand is in clinical development (Phase II/III) all the way through to the end of the life cycle for the brand.

This role will work with key functional partners to optimize the brands' value chain and specifically robust, high quality supply and Cost of Goods for the assigned brands. This role is also accountable for comprehensive supply risk management across the Product supply chains, and for crafting and deploying robust Business Continuity plans to avoid supply disruption. This role and the Global Supply Team(GST) will manage all of the strategic changes (such as establishing new supply nodes or introducing new assets on an existing site) for the products and ensure launches happen on time.

This role will regularly represent assigned products in senior key governance interactions GSC&TO Leadership Team and other key colleagues. This broad, senior-level visibility will provide the opportunity to continually demonstrate communication, influencing and partner leadership skills.

Accountabilities:

  • Apply knowledge and expertise to design, establish and optimize product supply chains throughout the lifecycle for a portfolio of products within a Therapy Area. This may require recommendations for sourcing/investment decisions, demonstrating deep supply chain financial foresight.
  • Provide product/brand leadership to other senior leaders within Operations and represent Operations and product supply on Commercial Brand Teams and in other senior product partner forums.
  • Optimize performance of current supply chains including using lean methodologies to improve supply chain lead-time.
  • Work across GSC&TO to deliver end-to-end Supply Chain operational performance critical metrics and support initiatives to optimize inventory.
  • Own and manage the product business continuity plans for the products and ensure a constant state of readiness to ensure product supply.
  • Lead and advise a matrixed supply chain team to complete the product strategy and deliver key supply chain changes.
  • Deliver successful, seamless, timely new product launches to parameters agreed with the LCT.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • BA or BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain or another relevant field.
  • 15+ combined years of experience in Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Supply Chain or Quality.
  • Direct experience in small molecule Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finish Pack manufacturing supporting both clinical and commercial products.
  • International CMO management experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Strong problem solving, decision making, planning, analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent hands-on Change Management experience demonstrated through strong cross functional collaboration and partnership.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills with team members across functions including but not limited to clinical operations, manufacturing, commercial, finance, procurement, IT.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supply strategy development, influencing, teamwork, enterprise thinking, relationship management, financial foresight, product costing and business case development.
  • A comprehensive understanding of product development, manufacturing and supply management and how other functions contribute to achieving the Supply Chain objectives of the business.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and influencing to senior levels of the organization. Detailed knowledge of lean as it applies to supply chains.
  • Demonstrated understanding of global, regional and local environments to identify risks, and design robust supply chains that deliver product in the real world.
  • A detailed understanding of the pharmaceutical or broader healthcare/FMCG industries and an understanding of the global context and its application to business opportunities.
  • Previous experience in a supply-chain management or related role.
  • Previous experience in at least two operations, or product development roles/functions.
