Group Financial Controller

Group Financial Controller role at Talent Choice. Based at Head Office in Swords, Ireland. Newly created position reporting to the Finance Director.
This is a hands-on opportunity to drive financial performance in a fast-growing retail group with 18 stores nationwide and a turnover exceeding 30 million. The role involves optimising the Microsoft Business Central system, embedding process improvements, and streamlining reporting to support senior management in strategic decision making.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day finance operations including management accounts, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes across the group
- Provide actionable financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decisions
- Collaborate with store managers and department heads to monitor and control costs
- Work with external auditors and manage year-end audit processes
- Develop and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and procedures; manage the current finance team of 4
- Drive continuous improvement and automation within finance processes
- Support stock control, margin analysis, and retail performance KPIs
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2-3 years PQE
- Background in retail/FMCG/multi-company setup highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage and lead a small finance team
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations and multi-company reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Business Central and advanced Excel
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills; able to guide and motivate the team
- Hands-on approach with a track record of delivering accurate monthly accounts and driving process improvements
- Excellent communication skills to partner effectively with senior management
- Ability to balance hands-on transactional work with oversight and improvements
- Full-time, on-site availability in Swords, Dublin
- Salary 70K - 80K DOE
- Bonus, performance related

- Full-time, office-based role. No WFH. 9:00–17:30, Monday to Friday
