About the job
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, Characterisation Scientist: Multi-Attribute Method
  • 2 year contract
  • Dublin

Our Biopharmaceutical client is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their team. In collaboration with a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturer, this role will focus on optimisation of various aspects of the multi-attribute method (MAM) to deliver a robust solution using liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry that can be deployed within the routine testing environment. The role will identify, investigate and eliminate sources of variability during sample preparation that may cause unwanted modification of the therapeutics under study, which could otherwise skew the resulting analytical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will investigate the root causes of unwanted sample preparation induced modifications on therapeutic proteins during standard workflows used prior to LC-MS based MAM.
  • You will use other analytical instrumental approaches, for example, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for the analysis of trace elements or others as necessary to investigate root causes of modification.
  • You will investigate how optimised workflows for sample preparation for MAM may be automated, again identifying, investigating and eliminating any potential source of sample preparation induced modification from the workflow.
  • You will interact with the industrial sponsor with the highest levels of professionalism and use your project management skills to ensure that experiments are conducted, reported and disseminated according to the agreed project schedule.
  • You'll participate in the training and networking activities to ensure that you grow and develop as a scientist, both technically and professionally, bearing in mind that you will be an ambassador for the company in all your activities.
  • Create and maintain high quality documentation and you'll actively publish and present your research outputs.
