The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of goods inwards, storage, and issues in the Materials Department. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting processes and systems related to issuing, scanning, and receiving goods from the supply chain, using all available technology.
• Maintaining the care of goods in the supply chain and ensuring inventory is kept in proper condition across all warehouses and inventory systems inside and outside the supplies department.
• Conducting analysis, reviews, and forecasts of supply chain management within the organization, including administrative aspects.
• Operating, controlling, and managing inventory systems, consignment systems, patient-level costing systems, and managed services orders from suppliers.

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of goods inwards, storage, and issues in the Materials Department. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting processes and systems related to issuing, scanning, and receiving goods from the supply chain, using all available technology.
• Maintaining the care of goods in the supply chain and ensuring inventory is kept in proper condition across all warehouses and inventory systems inside and outside the supplies department.
• Conducting analysis, reviews, and forecasts of supply chain management within the organization, including administrative aspects.
• Operating, controlling, and managing inventory systems, consignment systems, patient-level costing systems, and managed services orders from suppliers.

Main Duties Include

• Liaising daily with the Procurement & Supplies Manager, Supplies Officers B and C to ensure the efficient operation of the Materials Department and its services.
• Processing and delivering all requests for supplies and pharmacy needs.
• Generating pick lists, processing, and issuing goods according to routine or specific requirements.
• Ensuring accuracy of pick lists and producing delivery dockets.
• Dispatching and delivering goods daily as required.
• Filling backorders promptly.
• Liaising with Supplies Officers regarding stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, etc.
• Supporting the Pharmacy Department with goods inwards and the safe handling of medicines.
• Ensuring timely delivery of medicines and fluids across the hospital.
• Managing stock using first-in-first-out principles and monitoring expiry dates for pharmacy products.
• Replenishing supplies through requisitions to the Supplies Officer.
• Processing deliveries from suppliers and verifying against delivery dockets.
• Reporting discrepancies immediately to the Procurement & Supplies Manager or Supplies Officer.
• Filing delivery notes and issue dockets promptly.
• Being flexible and adaptable to the changing environment within the department.
• Ensuring accuracy in all actions, including checking delivery dockets, issuing items, and data entry.
• Storing goods safely and tidily, keeping stores clean.
• Performing other relevant duties as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Proven IT skills and knowledge of computerized warehouse/scanning software.
• Experience working in a busy stockroom.
• Understanding of stock management and related processes.
• Knowledge of basic transactions: requisitions, orders, receipts, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Experience handling goods.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
