Overview

PM Group is now recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with the ability to support the management and execution of data centre projects from conception to closeout.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team. As an Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on various stages of projects from concept to detailed design on projects largely within the pharmaceutical and data centre spaces.

Responsibilities

  1. Work as part of a multidiscipline team on both large and small projects.
  2. Design of Electrical systems and services for Pharma and Mission Critical Facilities.
  3. Provide technical support to Senior Electrical Engineers.
  4. Implement Quality standards.
  5. Check other electrical engineers' work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews.
  6. Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
  7. Participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off electrical installations.

Qualifications

  1. Third Level Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
  2. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit would be an advantage, but not essential.
  3. 5+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design.
  4. Demonstrable experience in the complete suite of electrical engineering design services. This includes (but is not limited to) MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, vertical transportation, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing & bonding, hazardous areas and specialist control systems.
  5. Knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices.
  6. Ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are required to provide cost-effective solutions for our clients.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  8. Self-starter and can take initiative with assigned tasks and objectives.
  9. Professional approach and demeanor.
  10. A strong ethical approach to safety, quality and environmental protection.
