Job Description

As an Electrical Site Chargehand, you will play a pivotal role in our project development and implementation process by reporting to the Project Manager/ Project Lead on all aspects of the site daily operations. You will work closely with the Planning Manager and Project Manager as well as a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to deliver cutting-edge projects. Current requirements are onsite based in one of our clients in West Cork.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Site Foreman and Site Management Team.
  • Ensure Scope of work is delivered.
  • Ensure all additional requests outside the scope are captured and communicated to project Quantity Surveyor (QS) team.
  • Ensure no breaches of Health and Safety protocols.
  • Always be a role model for "best in class" quality standards throughout the project.
  • Actively develop a culture where safety & quality are central to the mindset of each crew member.
  • Manage and coordinate sub-contractors on site.
  • Ensure works are carried out to a high standard while complying with building regulations, National Rules for Electrical Installations, Health and Safety and environmental standards.

This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise relating to pharmaceutical, life sciences, construction, and other sectors. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their knowledge and skills as their responsibilities grow and evolve.

Skills and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum Level 6 of the QQI Certificate in Electrical Craft Practice or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Electrical Verification & Certification course with a Qualified Certifier (QC) number would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable high level of technical knowledge with practical application.
