Due to continued success, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to lead our Production Team.

About the Role:

The Production Engineer will be instrumental in developing and optimising our production techniques and efficiencies to improve company profitability. This role will involve working with an established dynamic and successful team to implement new production methods and ensure the seamless operation of our manufacturing and shipping processes. Your expertise will be vital as we integrate our recent investments in new modelling software, a 7-axis CNC cutting machine and new line of commercial 3D printers into our production workflows. In addition, we plan utilise new premises to grow our in-house manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Production Team to achieve production goals.

  • Develop and implement production techniques and efficiencies, focusing on LEAN manufacturing principles.

  • Work on the development of new assembly facilities to support the production of our new product lines.

  • Optimise the use of new equipment, including modelling software, a 7-axis CNC machine, and 3D printers.

  • Design, propose, install and implement new production techniques / machinery.

  • Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure seamless production processes.

  • Oversee the design and layout of the new production premises to maximise efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, particularly within the medical device sector and our ISO quality management systems.

  • Weekly and monthly reporting to management team on agreed KPI's

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a Lead Production Engineer role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of LEAN manufacturing principles.

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, preferably Rhino or CAD.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Engineering background, minimum BEng level

  • Experience with Sage 50.

  • Background in the medical device industry.

  • Familiarity with the latest production technologies and equipment in our ranges.

  • Strong project management skills – particularly in the design, implementation and reporting of stand alone projects within the senior team.
