Opportunity to join a leading global Engineering Consultant as an Agricultural Liaison Officer to assist with the development and proposed site works on the Barnesmore Gap Greenway. As Land Liaison Officer you will play a key role, liaising on a day to day basis with the landowners and stakeholders along the proposed trail between the towns of Donegal and Ballybofey / Stranorlar. The Barnesmore Gap Greenway project aims to provide an attractive trail for recreational purposes for pedestrians, cyclists and people with impaired mobility. It will also act as a valuable corridor safely connecting rural communities and neighbours, as well as providing a green and active travel option across urban, public and community areas. You will be responsible for the management of landowner relationships during planning and construction phase of projects, securing land access for surveys, understanding the nuances of the land, including soil types and drainage requirements, spend a significant amount of time on site speaking with landowners, understanding their concerns and communicating this information back to the Project Team to assist in the construction/design/planning requirements. During construction, you'll be the main contact for the landowners for all land matters, including but not limited to, land accesses, negotiating and agreeing compensation claims, and drainage issues. Education & Experience:
- A qualification in Agriculture, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum experience is 5 or more years' experience on infrastructure projects, as Landowner Liaison on a road, rail, pipeline or greenway project.
- Experience in planning and delivering linear projects from a land and consents perspective.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and an understanding of land rights such as easements, leases and freeholds would be beneficial.
- An understanding of soil and drainage matters and experience in liaising with experts in various fields.
- Solution orientated, with experience in dealing with challenging situations and building stakeholder relations.
- Ability to engage effectively at multiple levels across an organisation with strong negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements at work, and PPE requirements working on construction sites.
- A desire to work outdoors in all types of weather is a must.
- Must hold a full drivers licence.
- Candidates must have good communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills, be able to prioritise work.
- Excellent customer service skills, experience in resolving non-complex complaints.
