Utilities Plant Engineer Location: Dublin 8 Duration: Permanent Hours: 39 hours per week Overview of the Role: The Plant engineer will be part of the Veolia site team at the client site in Dublin City Centre. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering, equipment vendors and service providers to ensure maximum uptime of utilities plant and equipment within the contract scope, and that equipment is following all regulatory, statutory and client corporate requirements. Day to Day of the Role: Day-to-day relationship with Veolia Contract Manager. Day-to-day relationship with Veolia Site Operations engineers Planner/Scheduler with client Engineering Managers and representatives. Day-to-day relationship with client project managers Responsible for early engagement with Client Operations and Project Engineers to ensure proposed capital projects are designed properly to deliver quality utilities that can support the Client Carry out concept designs and evaluation of different utility processes Complete detailed process design on live projects as necessary Provide process support and troubleshooting expertise to clients as required Compliance/quality engineering - recording and investigation of deviations on utility plant and equipment, using the client's quality system. Representing Utilities at Capitol Project meetings, Hazop and Safety meetings Liaising with the contract team and client to review maintenance programmes, and effecting changes to methods and procedures where appropriate. Continuous improvement of contract delivery on site. Identifying energy saving schemes, and liaison with site and Veolia Energy Engineers. Liaise with Quality to prepare and participate in internal and external audits. The Plant Engineer - Compliance will be expected to be involved in Utility projects and issues (deviations, safety incidents etc.) across the site and potentially off site. This will also include trouble-shooting and high-level investigation of all related plant equipment faults and failures. Supporting site contract maintenance team in minimizing downtime and risk of downtime to facility Monitor progress & quality of Utility upgrades carried out by Projects, Contribute to process improvement/optimisation from an engineering viewpoint Analysis of new technology for optimisation of plant and processes Management of audit action items generated from various site, corporate, HACCP and EHS audits, relevant to equipment in scope Ensure that all work on site is carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines. Be responsible for his/her training curricula and ensure missing requirements are completed Required Skills for the Role: Essential: Engineering degree or equivalent mechanical/ process and/or buildingservices, with three to ten years post graduate experience, or Marine qualification, with six to ten years' experience at sea. Maintenance and troubleshooting experience of the following systems and processes: Purified Water systems, Industrial Gases, Compressed Air, Ammonia Refrigeration, and WasteWater Treatment Familiar with Instrumentation and controls. Self-motivation, ability to work alone and as part of team Good communication and interpersonal skills Computer Skills Desirable: Experience in the Food & Beverage Industry Design and/or modification of any/ all the above systems Maintenance and troubleshooting experience of the above systems and processes Familiar with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
