General Description: The Eason Spelling Bee is Irelands ultimate spelling competition for primary school children in 5th and 6th class. This years competition takes place across the country during the months of March to June. The Bee Master role is critical to the competition and involves pronouncing all words that competing students have to spell across 30 finals: 26 county finals, three regional finals and the national final. Typically, the Bee Master will be required to attend each competition for 9:30am preparation in advance of start time of 11am with competition finished by 12:30pm. This is a fixed term contract running from 24th March to 13th June. Duties: Pronounce the word aloud for the speller Responsibility to pronounce the word clearly, correctly and articulately for the speller to hear Announce rules at beginning of competition Support the Spelling Bee Adjudicator in the event they mishear Ensure the rules are followed and silence is in the room at all times throughout the competition Requirements: Proficient in English Clear, neutral tone of voice Great vocabulary skills Confident in public speaking Good attention to detail Full, clean driving license Skills: Communication Public Speaking Attention to detail
