Senior Network Architect . Long term day rate contract (1 to 3 years). Dublin: Onsite and Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days offsite per week) . . Our government sector client is seeking the services of a Senior Network Architect with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and rollout of a Zero Trust network model. They will work with the Strategic Infrastructure and Architecture team to develop a High-Level Network Design, and a roadmap for the transition to a Zero Trust model. . The HLD will include micro-segmentation, VxLAN, and other cutting-edge technologies in a comprehensive approach to securing the digital infrastructure. The successful candidate is expected to have significant experience in this area and must have previous design experience in zero trust networks for a similarly sized organisation. . . Qualifications: Relevant industry certifications Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIEENT or equivalent. . Mandatory requirement: You should have the equivalent of Senior i.e. >7 years experience. No other experience levels will be accepted by our client. . . Experience, Competencies & Skillsets . Job Requirements Proven track record of successful large-scale network deployments. Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations affecting network security. Expertise in network virtualisation technologies, specifically VXLAN. Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting 1x authentication. Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and micro-segmentation Experience with network segmentation in cloud and hybrid Ability to create detailed network design documentation and diagrams. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong leadership qualities and experience managing cross-functional teams. Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. . Technical Skills Desired Network security concepts and technologies. Just-In-Time and Just-Enough-Access (JIT/JEA), risk-based adaptive policies, and data protection. Micro-segmentation and Micro-perimeters. . . Key Deliverables Analyse current LAN/WAN infrastructure and develop a high-level design (HLD) for a Zero Trust network deployment across office locations. Document low-level requirements, specifications and produce a roadmap for the transition to the proposed network model. Design a spine-leaf network architecture for the on premises compute-storage and HCI environments. Redesign access switching ACLs and VLANs with design considerations based on a Blended working environment and a cost-efficient operating model. Lead the planning, testing, and deployment phases of LAN/WAN infrastructure upgrades. Collaborate with the security team on the roll out of 802.1x authentication and ensure that the network architecture complies with cybersecurity frameworks. Participate at weekly CAB meetings and provide progress reports to management and other stakeholders when required. Contribute to the development and promotion of technical standards and templates, such as architecture assessment documents, and assist in prioritising work requests in conjunction with project managers and business units. Implementation of energy-efficient technologies into the network design to support green networking. Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture function. Provide subject matter expertise on LAN, WAN, VOIP, Hybrid DCs, and cloud integration strategies. . (Additional information is available on successful application) .
