Main Purpose of the Position: Provides HSE leadership, direction and governance for a number of HSE Programmes including Safety Culture, Training, Awareness and Communication.

This is an exciting and unique role for a highly motivated individual with a passion for communication and culture . The ideal candidate will have a strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the site Safety Culture program ensuring appropriate number of trained instructors available to support the site need, site personnel are trained and supported in the implementation of the Safety Culture Program.
  • Lead the Site Safety Culture Steering Team ensuring the program remains active, relevant and supports a positive attitude towards keeping employees and support staff safe.
  • Manage the delivery of the Site Safety Culture measurement program including planning, communication, and analysis of survey results ensuring appropriate and timely response implemented to continually improve the effectiveness of the program.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand HSE communication needs.
  • Develop and implement a HSE Awareness/Engagement Plan to ensure consistent, positive and proactive communication of HSE messages both internal and external to the site.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to HSE cascade messaging and gather feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute effective internal HSE communication initiatives that support successful implementation of the HSE plan including p roducing engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute HSE engagement events (with cross function collaboration) that foster a positive and inclusive HSE culture and make recommendations for maintaining engagement levels of the site population.
  • Develop and implement a HSE Training Structure ensuring HSE training needs are identified, HSE training provided is appropriate to the needs of the business and utilises the most appropriate training modality to maximise the experience for the learner.
  • Coordinate with operational areas and provide technical advice and guidance on related program elements as required.
  • Liaise with Global HSE colleagues ensuring Global HSE Standards and Initiatives are implemented onsite.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • Educational:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
  • Skills /Experience:
    • Experience in communications, awareness, culture
    • Familiarity with communication tools and platforms
    • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and concise messaging
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
    • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
