Transport Supervisor Recycling Industry Location: Silliot Hill Reporting to: Depot Manager Pay: €44-55k DOE About the Role We are seeking a Transport Supervisor to join our Recycling Business Unit on a permanent basis, located at Silliot Hill. Reporting to the Depot Manager, the successful candidate will support the delivery of waste collection services by supervising a team of drivers and operatives and managing a fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs). The role involves ensuring a high standard of customer service while collaborating closely with collection crews, maintenance teams, and the wider admin team. Key Responsibilities Assist the Depot Manager in overseeing daily operations and providing support as required. Plan and coordinate transport operations, including route planning, managing vehicle resources, and resolving breakdowns to avoid service disruption. Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards, including monitoring driver vehicle checks and tachograph data. Optimize resources to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure smooth operations. Conduct driver debriefs and review route performance. Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring regular inspections, defect reporting, and repairs. Liaise with the in-house maintenance team and third-party providers. Deliver Health & Safety training, including conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks for HGV drivers and operatives. Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring adherence to company policies for employee and public welfare. Actively engage in the performance management process to achieve individual and team objectives. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, skills, and attributes: 12 years of experience in a similar supervisory role. A valid C Licence, CPC, and tachograph card (advantageous). Experience operating forklifts, diggers, and other heavy machinery (advantageous). Manual handling experience. Flexibility to work in different areas as required. Proficiency in English and eligibility to work in Ireland. Prior experience in the waste management industry is a distinct advantage Bonus Position: Transport Supervisor Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary Benchmark: €44,183.64 to €55,229.55, with 10% APP depending on experience Annual Leave: 20 days No weekends Weekly Pay Full PPE provided Skills: Transport Supervisor C Licence Heavy Machine
