Job Description Role Purpose The Equine Support & Maintenance Worker is a dual role that combines both key equine duties and essential maintenance responsibilities. This involves ensuring the smooth running of Stewarts Care Equine Therapy Hub's facilities, while providing an excellent standard of care to our horses, as well as high quality service and engagement to our service users. The successful candidate will contribute to both the daily upkeep of the equine yard and the maintenance of the buildings, stables and grounds. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining all areas to the required standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. Duties involve attending to daily stable management tasks, such as feeding, grooming, and general care of horses, as well as assisting with routine health checks. The ideal candidate will conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment, ensuring everything is functioning to the required standard. Additionally, they will oversee the completion of services, working closely with the team to guarantee customer satisfaction by maintaining high levels of care and professionalism. The Person Previous experience in caretaking, preferably within an equine or therapeutic setting. Sound knowledge of and interest in horse welfare and care practices. Experience with general maintenance tasks, including electrics, cleaning and minor repairs. Any relevant qualifications in equine care, or a related field would be advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with service users, contractors and coordinating with staff. Proficient in problem-solving, multitasking & scheduling. Demonstrate knowledge of horse care, activities and stable maintenance. Deliver excellent customer service. Basic first aid knowledge is desirable.
