Your new company As Policy Advisor, you will join a regulatory and representative body in their Policy Department, reporting to the Director of Policy and working on issues at national, EU and international level. Your new office is in Dublin City and is accessible via public transport. Your new company requires you to join their team on a permanent basis. Your new role As Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in advancing policy and law reform initiatives on matters that are reflective of the public interest and the interests of support duties will include but are limited to conducting research and drafting evidence-based and authoritative policy papers on policy topics that are a priority; developing proposals for law reform, underpinned by credible arguments, that are reflective of the public interest and the interests of members; monitoring developments in the external environment; playing a key role in advancing specific policy issues as may be assigned; forging a strong and collaborative working relationship with members of Committees, engaging with policymakers, non-governmental organisations and other key stakeholders on matters of concern; drafting policy-related communications for the President and Director General and all other general administrative and ad-hoc duties that fall into your new role. What you'll need to succeed To become Policy Advisor, you will ideally have recent relevant experience in a similar policy-related role with a third level qualification in law, business or similar. You will require at least two years of relevant experience in public affairs, policy development or experience as a political advisor or Parliamentary Assistant. A strong understanding of the policy development and legislative processes in Ireland and the European Union is necessary. You will be able to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines on an ongoing basis. Excellent writing and research skills along with a keen eye for detail is essential.
