The Junior Associate will report into the Manager, AML COE and they will be involved in assessing new applications and supporting documentation for clients to ensure Waystone is compliant with Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) legislation. This role will also assist in managing new clients and their accurate and successful onboarding to Waystone systems.

About the role

· Independently liaise in a timely and professional manner with internal departments and clients.

· Assist in carrying out AML application, financial sanction screenings and independent research on Structured Finance clients.

· Performing anti-money laundering checks in line with AML policies and procedures.

· Help to prepare the “AML” pack for sign off by AML Manager/Senior Associate.

· Organise and help review/refresh of the above on an annual basis/2 and 3-year cycle.

· Monitor and update task tracking schedule to ensure all assigned duties are completed within assigned deadlines.

· Maintain checklists/procedures in relation to the AML process.

· Understand Market Abuse Regulations and assist with complying with obligations from same.

· Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of AML regulation and best practice and uses this knowledge to promote enhancements to Waystone’s AML processes and procedures.

· Assists colleagues when capacity permits and notifies Senior Associate with availability; and

· Follows current Waystone policies and procedures as set out in the Employee Handbook and/or develop additional policies as needed for jurisdiction specific.

REQUIREMENTS

· Display a keen attention to details and have excellent communication skills.

· Have a willingness to take on additional duties as and when required.

· Escalate all issues as and when they arise; and

· Have a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

· Have strong organisational and communication skills.

· Promote a compliance focused culture

· Share key learning and knowledge lessons at team meetings.

· Previous experience in an AML, Compliance or Transfer Agency role is desirable but other relevant experience is considered.
