Our work positively impacts the lives of over 10,000 people with disabilities, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and self-belief to achieve their expressed goals Community Support Worker Bruach Resource Centre Bachelors Quay, Co Cork Permanent Contract, 39 hours Job Purpose To promote and support independent living and community integration. To facilitate in the educational, developmental, recreational and occupational programmes and activities of the service, as appropriate. Programmes will be designed to match the service user's needs and capabilities while allowing him/her to develop his/her full potential and will be implemented at an appropriate time and setting in order to give maximum support. To assist the Community Services Manager in the development, implementation and delivery of quality customer focused and cost effective community services to service users at an appropriate time and setting. To promote and support independent living and community integration personal development and work opportunities for service users. Minimum Education & Skills required Minimum QQI Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent A minimum of one years' experience working in the field of disability . Previous experience of working in the Community Experience in the provision of personal care Job Duties & Responsibilities To enshrine the concept of independent living by supporting service users to integrate into their local community and access local resources. To ensure all interaction with service users is approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporates choice To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community. To ensure best practice in line with up-to-date research regarding Quality of Life improvements. To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community-based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users. Additional requirements Full Clean Driving Licence and access to a car for business purposes To promote and be actively involved in teamwork at all times.
