The Rotunda is the lead in maternity and gynaecology services for all of north Dublin and the northeast. Teenage pregnancy and Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology (PAG) are provided at the Rotunda by a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist with the support of a clinical midwife/nurse specialist in Teenage pregnancy and Adolescent Gynaecology, Medical social worker, and psychologist for Complex PAG. Antenatal care is provided to those up to the age of eighteen (nineteen in some circumstances) at the Rotunda at a weekly outpatient clinic with regular CMS phone follow-up where required. All patients are offered an appointment in the dedicated postnatal clinic (run monthly) for a postnatal maternal review. The PAG service at the Rotunda consists of weekly outpatient clinic sessions offered both on-site in person and/or virtually where appropriate. The service is supported by a CMS in Adolescent Gynaecology and a dedicated Clinical Psychologist. Fortnightly access to theatre is available when required for surgical cases. At Childrens Health Ireland (CHI) on the Childrens University Hospital at Temple Street site, PAG is an 8 hours commitment provided by the same Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist. In addition, access to theatre is provided once a month, with the potential to expand this access with the move to the NCH. Termination of pregnancy services may be integrated into ambulatory gynaecology service plans. Participate in tri-hospital PAG MDT between Rotunda/Coombe/NMH for complex cases with referral onwards to UCLH London where indicated. Increase the outpatient sessions available in CHI Temple Street to reduce waiting lists, by working collaboratively with the other PAG specialists from the other Dublin maternity hospitals currently appointed to CHI. Dedicated theatre sessions in CHI to reduce surgical waiting list/improve access to theatre for PAG patients in CHI.
