As a Powerplant Specialist in the Maintenance & Engineering Department you will enable Aer Lingus to meet the Regulatory requirements of EASA Part M (Part CAMO) and fulfil the requirements of the IAA approved manpower plan for Engineering – Powerplant section. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by ensuring the engines meet both Regulatory requirements and OEM standards to achieve the highest possible dispatch reliability for the aircraft engines and reducing flight cancellations. 

Your responsibilities as a Powerplant Specialist will include:

  • Provide continuing airworthiness management for A330 and A320 series aircraft for engines and APUs.
  • Evaluate OEM and vendor technical instructions e.g. SBs, VSB, AOW, AOT etc.
  • Manage the implementation of modifications in accordance with EASA part 21J including RFQ, approval process, and implementation.
  • Generate Engineering Orders in AMOS to accomplish continuing airworthiness requirements.
  • Review of trend data to monitor the health of Engines/APUs and analyse trend shifts/troubleshooting with OEM.
  • Support Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as necessary (including Materials, Quality, Air Safety, Planning, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, and Finance)
  • Provide call-out support as required to assist MCC in AOG/work stoppage situations.
  • Facilitate the acceptance and return of Aircraft to lessor/airline (through document inspection, physical aircraft/engine inspections, borescope records, LLP status, engine shop visit history, SB status, etc).
  • Develop and support the implementation of Lean within the Technical Services Department.
Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • Include minimum educational requirements if necessary.
  • Hold a 3rd Level Engineering Degree or an EASA Part 66 B1 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in an aircraft Technical Services environment, preferably within an airline, MRO or leasing company with a background on A320/A330 aircraft with CFM/CF6 engine types.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with CFM56, CF6 and LEAP engine types, along with 131-9A and GTCP 331-350C APU models.
  • Strong working knowledge Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point etc).
  • Knowledge of Aircraft OEM and Engine OEM Technical Documentation and IT offerings.
  • Interest in and working knowledge of Lean practices.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Programmes and ETOPS Operation.
  • Strong Customer Focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated Technical Services team.
  • Proven Project Management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative and commitment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide 2 verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in.
