This role can be based at one of the SEAI head offices (Dublin, Cork, Sligo or Dundalk), with options for hybrid working. This would include working 3 days remote working and 2 days onsite. About this Role: The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) was established as Ireland's national energy authority under the Sustainable Energy Act 2002. SEAI's mission is to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices. The Government is investing €8 billion of Exchequer funds to 2030, and SEAI is responsible for administrating schemes in support of Governments objectives. To fulfil this mission SEAI aims to provide well-timed and informed advice to Government, and deliver a range of programmes efficiently and effectively, while engaging and motivating a wide range of stakeholders and showing continuing flexibility and innovation in all activities. SEAI's actions will help advance Ireland to the vanguard of the global green technology movement, so that Ireland is recognised as a pioneer in the move to decarbonised energy systems. What do we do? The SEAIs mission is to drive Irelands sustainable energy transformation for the benefit of society. SEAI has a key role in driving Irelands energy transformation and will ultimately play a significant part in helping Ireland to achieve the targets that have been set both in legislation and the Climate Action Plan. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland delivers programmes aimed at: Guiding and supporting energy users in their own energy transition with the underpinning goal in mind of a decarbonised society Supporting Government decision-making through advocacy, analysis and evidence Driving demand reduction and providing advice to all users of energy Driving the decarbonisation of energy supply Raising standards in sustainable energy products and services Building markets based on quality, confidence and proven performance Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship Improving the coherence of Irish energy research and development Recruitment Information Candidates who apply through this competition will work within the National Retrofit Directorate as Senior Data Analysts, reporting to the business and reporting programme manager. As part of the interview process, short-listed candidates will be given a public dataset and asked to perform a data analysis. They will be required to: Analyse the dataset and identify key insights. Document the steps and methodologies used in the analysis. Present their findings and the analytical process to the interview panel. Below is a summary of the work of the National Retrofit Directorate. National Retrofit Directorate The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has been designated as the National Retrofit Delivery Body for delivering on Irelands target of upgrading 500,000 homes to B2 by 2030, as laid out in the Programme for Government and the National Climate Action Plan 2021. This will include managing a demand generation campaign, providing advice, grants and supports to homeowners and building supply chain capacity in the market to deliver on these targets. The SEAI Retrofit Directorate is responsible for delivering energy efficiency and retrofit programmes in the residential and community sectors. This programme is aimed at upgrading the Irish housing stock to high standards of energy efficiency and renewable energy usage, thereby reducing fossil fuel usage, energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. As part of this initiative, the SEAI is developing new schemes, supports and approaches to achieving this aim. The Senior Data Analyst Role(s) SEAI is seeking exceptional data professionals who are highly motivated and passionate about sustainability and want to help us in reducing carbon and energy use in Ireland.
