Junior Quantity Surveyor

ProSource are working on behalf of a leading large M&E Contractor based in Waterford, specialising in delivering complex mechanical and electrical solutions across a variety of sectors, including datacentres, residential, industrial and healthcare. Due to their growing portfolio, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the successful delivery of M&E projects. Responsibilities Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for M&E projects. Supporting senior quantity surveyors in the preparation of bills of quantities, cost planning, and procurement strategies. Assisting with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including obtaining quotations and managing contracts. Tracking project costs, including monitoring expenditure and preparing financial reports. Conducting site visits to monitor project progress and ensure that costs are aligned with budget. Supporting with interim valuations, variations, and final accounts. Maintaining accurate project records and documentation. Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of subcontracts and variations. Collaborating with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during project execution. Requirements A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally within the M&E sector or with an M&E contractor. Strong understanding of M&E construction processes, cost management, and contract administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost management software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
