The Pharmacy Aide will be responsible for the following: Participation in the organising and assisting in the day-to-day workflow in the pharmacy department. Participation in the receipt, supply and delivery of medications, pharmaceuticals and other related consumables as may be required under the supervision of a basic/senior grade technician and or qualified pharmacist Barcode scanning of medications received from suppliers Collection of requisition orders and delivery bags from wards units and theatres Participation in the management of pharmacy stock at pharmacy and ward level including date control and stock rotation under the supervision of a basic/senior grade technician and or qualified pharmacist Answering the phones and directing pharmacy related queries from members of staff or public to the appropriate discipline (technician or pharmacist) pharmacist in charge. Collection & Distribution of morning post & delivery of outgoing post to Post room and any other documentation to other areas as applicable Charging of Stock Movements to wards/units from pharmacy and sundry debtors Filing of prescriptions, associated documentation and other departmental documentation in the dispensary/compounding unit Clerical duties e.g., shredding/discarding of confidential waste, ensuring adequate levels of departmental stationary is maintained, photocopying, archiving of departmental paperwork Checking charge sheets (oncology and dispensary) on return from accounts for correct posting to the patients account and scanning to appropriate folder on shared area Bulk Spraying in the Pharmacy Compounding Unit from the administration area of the pharmacy compounding unit to the preparation room on a daily basis in accordance with the compounding unit standard operating procedure Washing of trays in the Pharmacy Compounding Unit Waste and recycling disposal Performance of other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned by the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The ideal candidate will on the closing date of application for this position: Have obtained an Irish Leaving Certificate Or Hold a recognised qualification deemed comparable Previous pharmacy/hospital experience is desirable Enjoy working in a busy environment, have strong attention to detail. Must have basic knowledge of how to use a computer to perform tasks Have excellent time management and organisational skills Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and have the ability to work on his/her own initiative Be flexible and capable of working on his/her own initiative Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Fluency in English both spoken and written is a pre-requisite for this role Be eligible to work within the EU Applicationsfor the above post are to be submitted online to Mandy OSullivan, Talent Acquisition Specialist.
