Senior Data Manager We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Data Manager. Reporting to the Head of IT, this role offers high visibility and a chance to shape the organisation's data strategy, governance, and analytics capabilities. You will lead a team of data analysts and developers, optimise data governance processes, and drive the delivery of enterprise reporting to enhance decision-making across the business. This is a permanent role with a competitive package where you'll work across diverse portfolios, including risk management, regulatory reporting, and enterprise analytics. Key Responsibilities: Data Governance & Strategy: Develop and implement a robust data governance framework ensuring accountability, quality, and security across the organisation. Enhance data architecture to integrate multiple data sources, providing a unified view of the organisation's data. Promote data literacy and deliver annual data maturity assessments to senior management. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Manage vendor selection and relationships to ensure high-quality data solutions. Enterprise Reporting Optimisation: Streamline reporting processes and improve data query performance for high availability and reliability. Lead the creation of dashboards, reports, and self-service tools to empower decision-making. Group & Regulatory Data Delivery: Oversee data pipelines for risk and finance teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business requirements. Ensure data accuracy and quality for regulatory submissions and internal reporting. Data-Driven Projects: Deliver key data projects that enhance operational efficiency and align with strategic objectives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and compliance with governance standards. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide regular updates to senior management. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define data priorities and ensure effective use of data across departments. You Will Have: Experience: 7+ years in data management, with at least 5 years in a senior role, preferably in banking or financial services. Data Governance Expertise: Knowledge of frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK and regulatory requirements (e.g., RDARR, BCBS 239). Banking Risk Data Expertise: Hands-on experience with banking risk data (credit, market, liquidity, operational) and associated regulations. Operational Reporting: Proven ability to optimise enterprise reporting systems and deliver timely, reliable insights. Project Management: Demonstrated success in delivering complex data-centric projects, managing risks, and meeting technical and business requirements. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in ETL processes, data warehouses, SQL, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams. Communication: Exceptional skills to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders. Why Join?
