Auditor - Not for Profit

Sanderson are partnering with a Not for Profit Government Agency to recruit an Auditor on a permanent contract. This position offers hybrid working arrangements in any of the following locations: Galway, Cork, or Limerick. Role Requirements: Audit Checks: Conduct audits on a variety of funded organisations to ensure proper use of programme funding. Accounting Systems Evaluation: Ensure transparent audit trails between expenditure returns and financial records. Compliance Assessment: Verify the eligibility of all expenditures against programme rules. Budget Monitoring: Track actual expenditure against budgets and highlight significant variances. Internal Control Assessment: Evaluate systems of internal control. Performance Evaluation: Assess performance outputs and value for money. Financial Statements Review: Evaluate annual financial statements and other returns submitted to the Companies Registration Office. Issue Escalation: Escalate significant issues to management. Communication: Maintain professional and timely communication with external organisations. Collaboration: Liaise with audit/verification management, staff, and other functions. Team Contribution: Participate in team meetings and assist in developing procedures and templates. Continuous Improvement: Engage in performance management and professional development. Relationship Building: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Qualifications: Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA with external/internal audit experience. Experience in conducting in-depth financial reviews or audits. Knowledge of charity and government accounting regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in computerised accounting packages. Full driving licence and provision of a car for business travel within the Republic of Ireland and occasionally within the island of Ireland.
