Senior Electrical Estimator

Excellent staff opportunity with our client, a long-established Mechanical Engineering contractor for an experienced, professional Senior Electrical Estimator.

As a vital member of our client’s estimating team, you’ll report to the Estimating Manager and specialize in crafting precise electrical cost estimates, ensuring timely tender submissions. With a focus on projects spanning various sectors across the UK, Europe, and Ireland, including Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Semi-Conductor, Data Centers, and Commercial developments, you’ll delve into the intricacies of tender documentation and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate estimates.

Responsibilities
– Conduct thorough reviews of tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
– Ensure precise quantity take-offs and markup of measured drawings.
– Manage supplier and sub-contractor quotations effectively.
– Issue tender queries and RFls.
– Attend meetings and site visits as necessary.
– Uphold tender return deadlines.
– Prepare detailed costed bill of quantities and tender reports.
– Identify potential value engineering opportunities.
– Maintain the tender database.
– Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
– Delegate workload and oversee electrical estimators.

Requirements
– 10 years+’ Electrical Estimating Experience, including at least 3-5 years as a Senior Electrical Estimator.
– Degree in Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
– Experience with UK tenders.
– Familiarity with Trimble MEP cost estimating software advantageous.
– Previous experience in delivering tenders from enquiry to award stage essential.
– Proficient in MS Office.
– Strong understanding of electrical systems including ELV, LV & MV/HV, distribution boards, power distribution & cabling, data & telecommunications, fire detection & alarm, containment, vertical transport, lighting & emergency lighting, earthing & bonding, CCTV, security & access control, lightning protection, back up power generation, battery energy storage, transformers, etc.
– Knowledgeable about electrical cables, materials, and supplier streams.
– Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
– Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
– Problem-solving abilities and multitasking skills.
