We are currently seeking an experienced professional with substantial skills in Business and Financial Management for the position of Commercial Manager with a Clare based organisation.
The successful applicant will report to the Head of Commercial and Shared Services and work closely with Senior Management.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the financial aspects of the business, and will provide strategic and operational management input to maximise the return from commercial activities. The Commercial Manager will provide line management for the Finance team and is responsible for all activities within these areas. The role will be responsible for analysing, monitoring, and forecasting trends.
Priority areas for the Commercial Manager are:
The financial and commercial aspects of the operation.
Ensuring that the key objectives of the organisation are met by managing workloads that maximises the use of resources
Managing the Finance team, ensuring policy and procedures are implemented, updated accordingly
Ensuring Payroll and employee benefits are processed in ordinance with company policy including all pay related statutory returns are completed in a timely manner
Development of Business system
Assisting with Local Government Audit and Financial audit
Specific responsibilities include:
Budgeting, forecasting, monthly and weekly reporting.
Updating and Development of internal process and procedures
Reporting to the Boards and Shareholder
Internal Controls for revenue channels
Modelling of business plans and projections
Development of licence agreements
New Business Product Development
Data Analysis to include development of Balance Score Card Model for KPI
Business system developments.
Ensuring Budget Holders are aware of procurement guidelines.
Overall management of a team of staff including in Finance and Procurement
Liaise with and manage individual tenants of units to ensure lease obligations are complied with
Provide financial support and expertise in relation to the management of Capital Projects.
Provide analytical information and support to the Management Team and the Board to aid strategic decisions and continually improve the financial systems and data
Act as key point of contact for the organisation in relation to Insurance, audit and legal issues
Act as key contact for external government agencies
Deliver and manage specific projects that may be assigned from time to time.
Assist in the delivery of key objectives including excellent customer care, visitor enjoyment, profitability, commercial sustainability, and health and safety
Participate in outreach Represent the organisation on official engagements and events as required
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related Discipline
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Commercial or Financial Management role
Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Experience of internal controls and procedures in a medium to large business dealing with large volume of transactions
PC literate with proficiency in all Microsoft products and experience with the administration and operation of financial management systems including Oracle
Excellent project management, decision making, communication and influencing skills
Understands the importance of providing excellent customer care to all stakeholders
Experience in the tourism sector would be an advantage
The successful candidate is required to have a current full class B drivers’ licence and access to own car.
