We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for requirement gathering and ensuring that project goals are delivered in a timely and apt fashion. The successful candidate will be pivotal in designing and championing the Data Engineering Analysis needs of the organisation. You will collaborate with colleagues within the Central Data Office (CDO) Team and business owners to understand business needs and support Data driven projects for PTSB . Responsibilities: Contribute to the Analysis phase of data engineering projects, ensuring that proposed solutions have well defined functional specifications and clearly defined non-functional requirements, for a business and technical audience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams from business and technical areas to identify business needs and provide data-driven solutions in-line with the Data Engineering Team's remit. Document requirements that meet business needs and Data Engineering Standards. Interrogate business specifications and seek to clarify areas of complexity and ambiguity. Adopt a data-centric view to identify and analyse problems and opportunities, support the goals of the CDO and Data Engineering Team by championing appropriate solutions and leveraging existing Data Engineering processes, when applicable. Ensure that Data Engineering team processes and procedures are followed. Ensuring standards are fully adhered to and documented appropriately. Positively contribute to evolving standards and process improvement. Facilitate Data Engineering Project Tracking on prioritised work, engage with Project and Business teams to communicate task sizing, scheduling and progress. Communicate Data Engineering findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner Requirements: Essential 5+ years of relevant data engineering related business analysis experience with know-how in enterprise class data engineering platforms e.g. Teradata Vantage, Snowflake etc Relevant 3rd Level qualification (Degree, Masters) in a related field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Technology) Proven team player with project delivery experience. Excellent knowledge of data engineering concepts and technologies Experience with Teradata EDW data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modelling Excellent presentation and communication skills Project management skills Ability to lead collaboratively in a team environment. Desired Retail Banking Financial services experience Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) Familiarity with Risk Management concepts for Regulated Institutions JIRA, Confluence This is a Permanent position for based in the Republic of Ireland.
