We provide our customers with a suite of powerful, but straightforward tech along with (real human) support, so they can thrive on their own terms.
Everything we do is designed to make running a restaurant satisfyingly simple, in a world that’s anything but.
About this role…Due to our continued growth, Flipdish is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer. This person will join as an individual contributor in our Analytics function reporting into our Data Science and Analytics Lead, with the opportunity to supercharge our growth in 2024 and beyond by improving reporting and providing actionable insights to teams across the whole company.
This a generalist technical role. The candidate should be open to working on a number of different data initiatives in parallel across the company, with a view to tying all of Flipdish’s data together coherently and making it more useful for stakeholders. The role is primarily a mix of analytics engineering and data analysis.
They will work with teams across the whole company to improve understanding of the business and automate reporting.
In this job, you’ll…- Create new DBT SQL data models, KPIs, dashboards and reporting solutions in Looker and Metabase for primarily self-serve analytical use to help stakeholders answer critical questions related to their business areas.
- Capture and distill data & analytics requirements, translating between the business objective and the technical solution, and feedback on feasibility and timelines.
- Be first line of support for the business on ad-hoc data queries and critical analysis for decision making.
- Document solutions e.g. code comments, metric definitions, dashboard explanations, etc. to enable visibility and transparency.
- Handover solutions and communicate data insights and high level methodology to non-technical audiences through clear writing, visualisations and narratives.
- Develop data quality monitoring and engage business stakeholders to take ownership of resolution.
- Support Data Science and Analytics Lead with feature engineering for ML and deep-dive analysis.
- 3+ years experience helping teams make impactful decisions with data.
- Advanced SQL: Expert at efficiently extracting large volumes of data. Proven commercial experience using SQL to answer business questions.
- Experience designing data models from scratch (ideally in DBT)
- Familiarity with database design and data engineering concepts.
- Able to context switch, work on parallel projects and respond quickly to ad-hoc requests.
- A quick learner and strong problem solver.
- Has meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
