Purchased Material Inspector - North Dublin

About the Role:

As a Purchased Material Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in our Supplier Quality & Inspection team in North Dublin. Reporting directly to the Supplier Quality & Inspection Manager, you'll be an integral part of our site Quality team, collectively responsible for maintaining and enhancing quality and compliance within our manufacturing and service operations, operating within ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day inspection expertise in Component and Mechatronic Inspection to support manufacturing operations.
  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and conduct lot inspection activities.
  • Approve finished products by verifying specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, identifying defective products for rework, and confirming rework completion.
  • Determine the acceptance or rejection of materials presented for inspection.
  • Document inspection results by accurately completing quality inspection reports and logs and entering data into the quality database.
  • Alert and assist the Supplier Quality Engineering department in recording and reporting failure and non-conforming material data.
  • Collaborate with the quality department and support Production, Engineering, and other internal departments by verifying specifications and tolerances when requested.
  • Assess Supplier capability to meet quality requirements and ensure supplier processes align effectively with requirements.
  • Support technology transfer initiatives and new product introduction projects.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and quality regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Inspection Methodologies such as PCBA Visual Inspection (IPC-A-610), Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical/Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, and Moulded and Machined plastics inspection and measurement.
  • Familiarity with Geometrical Tolerancing principles (e.g., true position, perpendicularity, concentricity, angularity, roundness, etc.).
  • Experience in General Inspection to Drawing; Commercial off the shelf components, inspect against vendor's item or model number.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Additional Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of a third-level qualification (Diploma/Degree) in an appropriate discipline (Quality Management, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering), or equivalent experience.
