The Organisation:
Based in Tallaght we have been working with adults with mental health difficulties from South and West County Dublin since 1995. Over the years we have developed and expanded our training programmes to meet the needs of people and the changing landscape of mental health recovery. Our services are for people who would benefit from additional support to nurture their mental health on their pathway to wellbeing and work. Threshold Training Network run two QQI accredited courses both of which have a work experience component, and Threshold Training Network support all our Graduates on their journey to find suitable employment.

The Role:
Threshold Training Network are seeking a trustee with a background relating to the area of Mental Health Recovery and experience in the mental health sector. The Board are particularly interested in individuals with relevant experience in disability services
General duties of a Charity Trustee:
Comply with the charity’s governing document
Ensuring the charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefit
Acting in the best interest of the charity
Act with reasonable care and skill
Manage the assets of the charity
Desirable Skills/Qualities required for this role:
Experience in the Mental Health sector, mental health services and recovery programmes
An interest in disability supports and services
An interest, passion and understanding of mental health issues
Compassion for mental health struggles and recovery, from work or lived experiences
A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector
An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values
Experience serving on not-for-profit, public or private sector Boards of Directors or Board sub-committees an advantage
Experience at an appropriately senior level
Board Meetings:
The board meets at least four times a year with additional meetings as requested. Meetings usually take place on a Wednesday, in person, however there is also the potential for some hybrid attendance. Board members may also be asked to join sub-committees, based on their expertise
