The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for a senior manager to join our highly collaborative global leadership team, responsible for all data center (DC) projects across EMEA.

As a Senior DC Infrastructure manager you will lead a multi-disciplinary team comprised of experienced builders that have detailed knowledge of data center infrastructure.

About AWS Infrastructure Services
AIS owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Key job responsibilities
• Full ownership of the design of all AWS operated data centers within the EMEA region
• Ownership of design related scope through the construction and commissioning phases of all EMEA projects.
• Support the deployment of new AWS products into the field requiring different types of infrastructure, in your region
• Input into global design standards and generational data center template designs
• All management related leadership and administrative functions (staffing, leadership, expenses, performance management, salaries, goal setting, guidance, training, mentoring, promotions and terminations, and career development).
• Oversight of design consultancy firms.
• Working with the wider EMEA project delivery team to drive cost and schedule efficiencies to allow the business react in an agile way to demand signals.

Your day will be dynamic and impactful, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts to conceptualize, design, and implement state-of-the-art data center infrastructure.

You'll engage in strategic planning, lead cross-functional teams, and solve complex engineering challenges that require creative problem-solving and technical expertise.

About the team
We are a passionate, diverse group of engineers, architects, and innovators dedicated to pushing the boundaries of cloud infrastructure. Our team thrives on collaboration, continuous learning, and delivering exceptional technological solutions that transform how businesses operate globally.- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience defining data center system-level architecture, specifying/documenting performance and equipment requirements to vendors and contractors, communicating conceptual designs, and creating/maintaining project documentation before, during and after construction
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, including design, development, test, build, deployment processes and timelines
- Experience using tools to create, manage, and publish documentation
- Broad understanding across civil, structural, architecture, mechanical and electrical disciplines plus specialist disciplines including, acoustics, ICT, fire and security.
- Experience of end to end project delivery including civil, structural and architectural, as well as MEP scope.- Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering
- Sustainable design experience
- Experience in modular construction techniques
- MBA, or Master's degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Certification such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Experience in vendor management
