Our client is an M&E Contractor working on major projects in Mechanical Services, Air Conditioning, Electrical Services, and Process Engineering for Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Medical clients.
The successful candidate will hold a mechanical engineering electrical trade qualification and have experience in large-scale electrical projects.
This is an office-based role with hybrid hours, reporting to the Operations Director. Responsibilities include managing and delivering mechanical project tenders from request to submission. Familiarity with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Project) is required.
Experience in a mechanical/electrical contracting environment is essential.
Responsibilities include:
Identifying and building cost estimates by analyzing materials and labor needed for large-scale commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Reviewing building plans to determine electrical needs for estimates.
Reviewing supplier costs and negotiating best prices.
Maintaining cost databases and outlining common costs for future estimates.
Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Meeting tender deadlines.
Ensuring accuracy and paying close attention to detail.
Solving complex problems efficiently.
Demonstrating organizational and time management skills.
Working collaboratively and independently.
Checking multiple data sources.
Communicating effectively in oral and written form.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in pricing and estimating mechanical packages. The candidate will produce high-quality tender submissions and report directly to directors. Collaboration with the estimating team is expected to ensure quality on all tenders.
