We are currently recruiting for a Resident Medical Officer for our clients in Co. Clare.
The role will be based in a Nursing Home setting and will have a 25-bed rehabilitation unit.
Duties
The RMO will be a full-time appointment and will provide routine medical cover to the 25-bed rehabilitation unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the highest standards of medical care for all patients admitted to the centre.
- Working in cooperation with the nursing team and HCSPs to deliver outcomes planned under the rehabilitation care plan.
- Initial comprehensive medical assessment of all patients admitted:
- Taking medical history and carrying out physical examination.
- Reviewing medical transfer.
- Overseeing medication management and review.
- Ensuring that the patient is medically supervised in terms of ongoing care and changes in condition.
- Reviewing discharge summary from hospital, ensuring all investigation results have been seen.
- Being a member of a medical team supporting the management of patients whose condition may become medically unstable, advising on whether re-admission to hospital is required and/or responding to medical emergencies appropriately.
Qualifications
- Must be on the General Register of the Irish Medical Council with 2 or more years of experience working in Medicine (geriatric medicine desirable).
Hours
Cover is required onsite 24/7; thus, the RMO team will work on a weekly roster (including nights/weekends).
