Estimator Construction A well-established main contractor is looking for an Estimator to join their commercial team in their head office in Dublin. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across the commercial, industrial, and educational sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team and will play a key role in the tendering and pre-construction process. Role & Responsibilities: Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Prepare accurate cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, & subcontractor packages. Manage and deliver tender submissions to agreed deadlines. Assess project risks and opportunities from a cost perspective. Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure competitive rates. Work closely with Commercial and PMs to ensure estimates/ cost plans are aligned. Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams when required. Contribute to value engineering exercises and propose alternative construction solutions. Prepare clear project handover documentation once tenders are secured. Provide cost and procurement advice to the project team during early stages. Requirements: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a similar discipline. At least 5 years experience working as an Estimator in the construction industry, ideally on commercial projects. Advanced analytical and numerical ability with excellent attention to detail. Experience using estimating software (such as Buildsoft, Cubit, or Causeway), along with Microsoft Excel and COINS. Strong communicator with the ability to negotiate effectively. Capable of working to deadlines in a busy team environment.
