Lead Architect, Software Engineering Overview:
Mastercard Open Banking empowers customers to securely share their financial data to access smart, simple, and safe financial experiences. It supports financial institutions and third parties with real-time, enriched data for developing innovative solutions in financial services. The Lead Architect, Software Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software solutions with high customer focus and enterprise mindset. You will play a key role in building next generation payment-related solutions for the global audience.

Role:
1. Leads ideation, design, and implementation of technical solutions for global customers (internal and external).
2. Collaborates with cross-functional teams across development, product, business, design, and operations from initial product conceptualization to release and ongoing product maintenance.
3. Define, develop, and deliver major cross-department initiatives with broad scope and long-term business implications.
4. Guides the team to deliver quality, value driven product enhancements.
5. Actively look for opportunities to innovate and creative problem solving. Define blueprints and perform POCs to assess technologies that can be adopted.
6. Create technology roadmaps and reference architecture that aligns with the overall department strategy and vision.
7. Communicate effectively with Senior Management, Business Owners and other Stakeholders and help them in critical decision-making process.
8. Leads governance initiatives and ensures compliance with regulatory and auditing requirements.
9. Influence people positively and be a driver of change. Coach and mentor other team members to become subject matter experts.
All About You:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. 5+ years of professional experience and proven track record in designing and delivering critical systems at enterprise scale.
3. Has the ability to write secure code in any modern coding languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, JavaScript) and is familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE) and vulnerability management.
4. Strong fundamentals of architectural patterns, SDLC methodologies, security best practices, cryptography standards, system frameworks, network engineering, API first approach etc.
5. Demonstrate sufficient level of knowledge and understanding of various cloud service offerings including AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
6. Credible thought leader and significant influencer to work alongside internal product and service owners. Comfortable in a highly agile, fast paced environment with high cadence of delivery.
7. Understand the fundamentals of product design - ensuring that the solution is flexible, easily maintained and performs efficiently. Promote build and reuse of common libraries and services.
8. Effective team builder, employee developer, and coach; can foster high performance and collaborative team environment.
9. Ability to provide technical leadership from architecture, design, and all the way through to monitoring and support after release.
10. Must display effective communication skills -- both verbal and written in articulating technical implications to stakeholders.
11. Expertise in designing robust payment products that can scale globally is preferable.
