The Orchard Respite Centre provides specialist respite care for people with dementia and cognitive impairment. The Orchard Respite Centre is open to people with dementia anywhere in Ireland. We offer specialist care for up to 11 clients at a time, on a seven-day basis and for a specified period, usually one to two weeks. The Orchard Respite Centre are seeking a Centre Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. The Centre Manager is responsible for providing clinical leadership, managing day-to-day clinical practices, appropriate staff rostering, delegation and supervision, performance and development, clinical governance and assessment of risks. Duties and Responsibilities Ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of nursing and social care which meet the individual needs of each resident. Ensuring that policies and expected clinical standards are read, understood, and practiced at all times. Providing direction, mentorship, and guidance to all staff in terms of their role. Ensuring appropriate training, education, development and induction are delivered to all staff. Reviewing and auditing nursing documentation to ensure accurate in accordance with legislation. Ensuring medication practices are carried out according to NMBI guidelines and medication management policies. Carrying out regular performance appraisals and professional development objectives with all staff. Producing the roster, understanding the agreed staffing levels, and maintaining compliance with these. Ensuring that complaints are appropriately documented and followed up as required. Supervising of staff to ensure compliance with clinical standards, demonstration of strong communication with residents and general working practices Skills, Attributes, Qualifications BSc in General Nursing or equivalent. Previous managerial experience is essential. Registered on the NMBI live register. Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills. Sound decision making ability. Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative. Ability to work well and promote a team environment. Results driven. Note Given the nature of the work, it must be stressed that maximum flexibility is required. This job description does not attempt to detail every activity.
