Role Overview This role manages Ookla’s open receivables collection process, ensuring timely payments by monitoring accounts, following up on overdue payments, resolving billing discrepancies, escalating risks, and preparing financial reports to optimize cash flow and mitigate bad debt.
Responsibilities Account monitoring: Tracking balances, identifying overdue payments, analyzing payment patterns.
Customer contact and collections: Reminding customers of payment due dates.
Payment reconciliation: Matching payments to invoices and updating balances.
Dispute resolution: Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies or complaints.
Reporting and analysis: Providing ad hoc reports on accounts receivable aging, cash flow, and KPIs.
Account maintenance: Reviewing WHT, VAT, and US sales taxes for invoicing accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
Communication: Corresponding with clients and sales teams, handling invoicing questions.
Collaboration: Working with departments like accounting, sales, and billing to ensure accurate billing.
Process improvement: Identifying and suggesting billing process efficiencies.
Accounting reconciliations: Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Financial reconciliations: Reconciling revenue recognition and tax to invoices.
Requirements & Experience Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or ACA) with 2-3 years in accounts receivable or similar roles involving complex invoicing. High attention to detail and understanding of billing processes are essential.
Experience with electronic billing systems (Oracle Fusion preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Degree in Accounting and/or Finance (preferred).
Experience in US Multinational companies (preferred).
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred).
Experience in contract review related to invoicing, contract terms, and tax implications, especially with international customers (preferred).
Strong teamwork, organizational, and time-management skills, particularly during month-end closing.
Close attention to detail for accuracy.
