About the role
We are looking for a Scientist for our Regulatory team located in Naas. As a member of a busy team, the person will ensure all our Business to Business and Business to Consumer labels across all Europe & UK sites are compliant with relevant Regulations. This person will design software label templates and support sites/business with any label queries. Also, the person will be responsible for assessing and assigning tariff codes for our finished products and raw materials. This individual will have experience working and interpreting food labelling and tariff legislation. Previous experience as a SME thought leader and participation at trade associations in their respective area of subject matter expertise would be advantageous. The role is based in Naas with the possibility of hybrid working.
Key responsibilities
- Reviewing and approving Food product labelling BtoB or BtoC.
- Assigning and assessing Tariff codes for raw materials and finished products.
- Advising on regulatory trends and issues impacting the industry and the Kerry business.
- Developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders/customers.
- Supporting projects related to the implementation of regulation updates.
- Liaising closely with other internal departments.
- Contributing to overall department Key Performance Indicators.
- Remaining fully flexible to meet business requirements.
Qualifications and skills
- Min. Degree in food science, chemistry, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of food legislation in one or more of the following areas: labelling, tariffs, packaging.
- 1-3 years experience in key areas outlined.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience in SAP and Optiva systems is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; another language would be advantageous.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and pay attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to document and streamline processes.
