TRANSPORT PLANNER - North Dublin The Transport Planner is responsible for overseeing the routing operations and transport planning operation within the transport team to ensure efficient and timely collections and deliveries. This role involves planning and optimising delivery routes, managing real-time fleet performance, and ensuring all operational challenges are addressed promptly to minimise delays. The Transport Planner communicates effectively with drivers, customer support and depots to ensure clarity on schedules and routes, ensures accurate delivery times for customers, and manages necessary documentation. Ensure that collections and deliveries are completed in the most efficient manner possible. Duties in the role: Plan and optimise delivery routes to minimise delays Oversee real-time monitoring of fleet performance, ensuring that drivers are on schedule, tracking delays or issues as they arise and taking action to resolve any problems promptly Debrief and communicate effectively with drivers regarding collections and deliveries, ensuring clarity of routes, schedules, and any operational updates Manage the scheduling of collection and delivery dates, ensuring that deadlines are met, and operational challenges are addressed promptly Advise customer support on any issues surrounding deliveries, providing timely information and ensuring issues are resolved quickly to avoid delays Ensure incorrect freight labels are reprinted and replaced with the correct labels for shipments Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customer locations, providing updates on expected delivery times and addressing any issues or delays proactively Oversee responsibilities related to the management and accuracy of manifests, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the transport team in various operational activities Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in a transport or logistics role, with a focus on routing and real-time monitoring.
