Working hours: 11pm - 7am Mon - Thursday and 7pm - 1am on Friday's

Description

We are hiring for our client, a well-established manufacturing business, who are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead the nightshift operation.

Working on a permanent nightshift, the Shift Manager will organise, co-ordinate, and maximise production performance based on customer requirements, machine productivity, and effective use of people and materials. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Manager will play a key role in driving safety, quality, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.

The Role

- Organise and co-ordinate nightly production to meet customer requirements and daily plans.

- Promote safe working practices, and ensure company safety standards are understood and followed by everyone on shift.

- Maximise productivity by increasing run speeds, reducing downtime, and optimising labour and materials.

- Ensure all product produced on the shift is of the highest quality and meets specification.

- Manage the night-to-night personnel operations of the plant, including allocation of work and support of your team.

- Lead and standardise processes, ensuring consistency across teams and lines.

- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the plant.

- Prepare clear nightly handover reports for the incoming shift and the Production Manager.

The Person

- 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a production or manufacturing environment.

- A technical or industrial engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.

- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and get the best from teams.

- Confident, assertive communicator who can effectively engage up, down, and across the business.

- Positive, “can do” attitude and driven by achievement and success.

- Proven organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple demands on a busy shift.

- Solid knowledge of machinery and production processes.

- Experience of identifying improvement opportunities and delivering continuous improvement activities.

- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
