The successful candidate will work alongside engineers, environmental scientists, and other staff on infrastructure projects in Ireland, particularly in water, energy, and transport sectors, as well as on specialist environmental projects.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a confident individual who:

- Is capable of organizing and managing large or strategic environmental projects, including EIARs and non-statutory environmental reports.

- Can motivate, mentor, and provide guidance to junior members of the environmental team.

- Possesses excellent project management skills, including technical delivery, financial management, client liaison, and program delivery on complex or multidisciplinary projects.

- Demonstrates excellent organizational, technical, numerical, and communication skills, with the ability to think logically and report concisely.

Responsibilities

1. Manage a variety of projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to high technical standards.

2. Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulators, subcontractors, and internal teams.

3. Prepare proposals and contribute to bids for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

4. Manage project teams effectively.

5. Collaborate with local and wider AtkinsRéalis teams across Ireland and the UK.

6. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

- Degree in a relevant science or environmental engineering field (e.g., environmental science, sustainability, air and climate, noise, geology, hydrogeology).

- Masters qualification in a relevant specialty is preferred but not essential.

- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.

- Post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment, particularly in preparing and coordinating EIARs and environmental reports.

- Strong knowledge of planning and environmental legislation, technical guidance, and industry standards, especially related to EIARs.

- Proven ability in technical report writing and project management of major environmental projects.

- Experience in sustainability and carbon management is a plus.

- Experience in providing technical support and mentoring.

- Experience with renewable energy projects onshore and offshore is preferred but not essential.
