What is the Role: We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Senior Data Engineer to join our newly established AI Centre of Excellence (CoE). The AI CoE will be responsible for driving and supporting the development and implementation of AI solutions across the business and ensuring alignment with our AI framework and data ethics principles. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing data workflows for complex integration projects and ensuring that data structures are appropriate to the objective of the AI solution being deployed. You will work closely with the Data Scientists to support the timely and safe implementation of AI solutions that are aligned to the bank's strategic objectives and deliver positive customer outcomes, and measurable business value. We are seeking a Data Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about collaboration and excited by the prospect of shaping the future of AIB through AI. The successful candidate will have strong experience in data engineering and a passion for enabling data-driven decision making and innovation, to support the implementation of AI solutions. Key accountabilities; Designs, develops and maintains robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and architecture to support AI and machine learning initiatives. Ensures data integrity, quality, and security across data processes and infrastructure and implements best practices for data governance and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Ensures the successful integration of diverse data sources, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Implements new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve data processes and infrastructure. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, efficiency, and reliability. Responsible, alongside the data scientists for delivering a catalogue of AI use cases with proven value. What you Will Bring ; Degree in Maths, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent qualification. 4+ years' experience as Data Engineer or experience in financial services with relevant data engineering qualifications Highly numerate and passionate about data and analytics with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Solid experience in designing and implementing large-scale data architectures and pipelines. Demonstrate strong data management, analytical and reporting skills. Database experience preferably on Teradata or other Databases.
