Orange Recruitment is seeking an Independent Living Social Care Lead to join our client on a permanent, part time basis. The post holder will have responsibility and accountability for the operational delivery of an effective, person-centred service in an accommodation facility. Salary: €53,631 per annum pro rata Key Duties: Establish, maintain and develop a safe and pleasant accommodation environment for the RTU Trainees. Be responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness i.e.in line with company standards, liaising with cleaning contractors and IPC staff. Responsibility to complete all company audits, including IPC, Health & Safety, and COVID-19. Ensure fair access for Trainees to facilities i.e. cooking, laundry, leisure facilities such as TV, DVD etc. Responsible for ensuring that the Lodge environment is maintained to a high standard. The need for maintenance should be reviewed regularly; problems arising should be brought to the attention of the Technical Services Department through submission of tickets and liaison. Identify and manage any hazards by changing work practices or removing faulty equipment from use and ensuring that it is replaced or repaired, log and report problems and defects to the Technical Service Department. Order Kitchen/ Bathroom/ Bedroom supplies as necessary and keep an inventory of all stocks, supplies and provisions. Administer and monitor the electronic card access system for the bedrooms. All confidential information and reports need to be stored appropriately i.e. in a locked cabinet in the Lodge office. The Social Care Leader must strictly adhere to rules of confidentiality concerning all Trainee information according to relevant company policies. Be responsible for the administrative duties connected with the distribution of brochures, taking of accommodation referrals, keeping daily diary of events and activities in relation to accommodation. Record keeping should be consistent with best practices. Report incidents that reflect problems Trainees may have in adhering to protocols and procedures to the RTU manager or designate as soon as possible the next day. Maintain an up-to-date record of Lodge policies and procedures. Familiarise self with all policy procedure guidelines and incorporate into work practices. Keep-up to date with best practice in the field of Social Care and participate in new quality initiatives. Maintain appropriate Social Care Work Trainee records and provide service data as required to RTU Manager. Liaison with the RTU Manager and RTU team ensuring effective two- way communication concerning the needs and welfare of the Trainees. Follow protocol for out of hours emergency response according to the agreed policy. Maintain handover logs on a daily basis in a clear, concise manner and consistent with the format and standard approved by the company. Where appropriate to be responsible for the oversight of the Trainees with regard to daily tasks to be carried out, i.e. making of beds, washing up, cooking etc. Provide full orientation to new Trainees with regards to Health & Safety procedures. Formal Induction process for the Lodge to be completed and signed off within first 48 hours. Ensure clients are in their rooms at night at the designated times. Ensure clients are off the premises when locking the Lodge at the end of duty time 10 am/ 11.30am. Attend and contribute to the weekly team meeting in the RTU and participating in meeting/discussion in relation to Trainees' progress and Individual Training Plans. Support any special responsibilities in relation to the Trainees in undertaking Activities of Daily Living (ADL). Participate and provide a progress update on Trainees in weekly client review meetings and to staff as part of daily handover. Maintain clinical documentation and individual Trainee records to specified standards. Actively participate in the RTU monthly staff meetings, strategy meetings, and ongoing programme development and quality improvement initiatives. Promptly inform the RTU Manager and the relevant Caseworker regarding any issues that may arise relating to the health & safety of the client. Collaborate with RTU staff on shared goal setting for Trainee activities and tasks. Provide information for the required RTU activity data systems and reporting structures, e.g. weekly and monthly attendance, room occupation, absences, etc. Instil by example and direct training proper work attitudes and work behaviours in each Trainee and to provide Trainees with adequate feedback about their progress in the social care goals. Participate in Mandatory Training and other training as identified by the Hospital for the proper performance of duties of the post. Keep up to date with new developments, procedures and policies within the company. Participate in the established company Annual Competency Assessment and review process. It is the responsibility of all staff at all levels to ensure that the highest level of quality services required for each patient is maintained. Quality and patient safety supports the Health Service to deliver high quality and safe services to patients and service users. Work within a risk management framework that complies with the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) National Standards as appropriate. Responsible to ensure compliance with Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) National Standards, Health Service Executive (HSE), CARF/adopted Accreditation Standards, National and Local policies, procedures, guidelines, best practice standards, relevant government legislation and regulations. Participate in various standards, company accreditation and quality control groups to support the overall achievement and maintenance of the designated company quality and accreditation standards. Work closely with the Risk Management Department, clinical programmes and services in order to organise and assure implementation of all hospital and external quality, safety and risk management policies, procedures and requirements pertinent to services at the Hospital. Qualifications: The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess: A Social Care Worker qualification as approved by CORU such as: 1. BA Social Care. 2. BA Applied Social Care. 3. Be eligible for and have applied for registration with CORU. Have minimum of 5 years' experience of working with in a rehabilitation, health care or hospital setting and of supporting adults with life skills training. A demonstrated track record of continuing professional development. The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, communication skills, people management) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
